Ancient Jordan is associated with many of the written events in the Old and New Covenants, as well as historical events associated with the Christian Religion. This makes many of the Earth's Jordanian areas sites that attract believers, including Catholic Church papal and the world's Orthodox and evangelical church presidents, who have all made pilgrimage to the sacred places, as well as many of the global civil personals.
Jordan received four papal visits: His Holiness Pope Paul VI in 1964, His Holiness Pope John Paul II in 2000, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI in 2009, and His Holiness Pope Francis in 2014.
Jordan, which is known for its good co-existence and religious harmony, is interested in maintaining these religious sites to facilitate the visit of pilgrims from all over the world and to provide them with the highest standards of care.
